Artist Bio
Austin-based Nigerien-American artist Karima Santi released her debut EP Queen of Regret in Fall 2024 with stunning production by Grammy-nominated local legend Chris ‘Frenchie’ Smith. The EP explores Santi’s massive back catalog of songwriting dating back to 2016, and two singles off the record have garnered radio play on KUTX and KROX in Austin, including acoustic-driven “Space” and epic breakup-ballad “Arizona”.
Since the record’s success, Santi was awarded a grant through the Austin Live Music Fund and has been invited to headline at revered Austin venues including Cactus Cafe and Guero’s Oak Garden. She was also spotlighted in the Black Artist’s Rock showcase at The Far Out Lounge, and fans compare her sound to Men I Trust, Sade, and Mazzy Star.
In 2025, Santi has continued to impress fans with a steady stream of self-produced singles—especially her indie-rock cover of Beyonce’s Break My Soul that has attracted attention to her skills as a producer as well. Santi is already underway self-producing her next EP ‘Royale’, and will release her new single ‘Eternal Wine’ this summer. She will certainly be one to watch in 2025 as she heads out on her first U.S. tour this spring.
